Description:

Altitude won the contract to develop the STEPS (Secure Transaction Execution Processing System) application and was tasked with the development of the full, standalone application to operate the STEPS business process.

One of the key elements of the system was to make it completely secure and all the transactions irrefutible. As such it was necessary to source and implement 3rd party digital signature hardware and software that could be run from within a browser with minimal software installation so that actions performed by users is non-repudiable and can be used as evidence in a court of law, if necessary.

The site was developed in ASP.NET MVC making heavy use of AJAX to create a slick and speedy user interface. Combining PKI(public key infrastructure) systems from Verisign with browser based security token technology, the application provides a highly secure environment to execute financial transactions, from within a web browser.
